Youth and Education

Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron was born on December 21, 1977, in Amiens, France. The eldest child of two doctors, Macron grew up in a non-religious household. At the age of 12, he joined the Jesuit school La Providence, where he first met his future wife, Brigitte Trogneux.

Early Career and Political Aspirations

After graduating from the elite École Nationale d'Administration, Macron began his career as an investment banker. In 2007, he entered politics as an advisor to President François Hollande. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Minister of the Economy, Industry, and Digital Affairs in 2014.

Founding of La République En Marche!

In 2016, Macron founded his own political movement, La République En Marche! (The Republic on the Move!). The movement promised to bridge the traditional left-right divide in French politics and advocate for a more progressive and centrist agenda.

Presidential Election of 2017

Macron ran for president in 2017 as an independent candidate, facing off against far-right leader Marine Le Pen in the second round. He ultimately won the election with a resounding 66% of the vote, becoming the youngest president in the history of France.

As president, Macron has implemented a range of reforms, including tax cuts for businesses and households, labor market deregulation, and investment in education and infrastructure. He has also taken a strong stance on climate change, advocating for international cooperation and renewable energy.

Macron's presidency has been marked by both success and controversy. He has achieved significant progress in certain areas, but has also faced challenges such as the Yellow Vest movement and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Personal Life

Emmanuel Macron married Brigitte Trogneux, his former high school teacher, in 2007. She is 24 years his senior and has three children from a previous marriage. Macron does not have any children of his own.
